Educo Professional Workshop Activity Center Review

from Educo

Have I ever mentioned that I have a boy? In any case my husband dreams of the day when they will be able to tackle all the household tune up projects together (I, on my part hope that never happens). So I came a great Workshop Activity Center that I would love to give to my son. I know this fun wooden workbench is great for inspiring little minds. The tools are sized perfectly for small hands. Ultimately it's a building set that will provide hours of imaginative play fun, and piece of mind for the parent.

The 78-piece set includes:
  • 10 wooden screws
  • 10 wooden nails
  • 10 wooden nuts
  • 17 flat wooden pieces
  • 1 two piece wood clamp
  • 1 hammer
  • 1 wrench
  • 1 screwdriver
  • 1 ruler

Educo is a toy company that have earned international distinction for durability, quality craftsmanship, educational value and innovative design, and this set is really great.

Pros: an awesome playstation for your little one, really high quality, and great detail
Cons: the legs could be a little thicker to hold up better and the 'nail' holes are a bit big so the nails just fall through
Age: 3yr+

Bath Ducks for Boys Review

from Bud

Ok, so this is the continuation of my so called two part series covering bath ducks! So exciting! So yesterday we have a post about Bath Ducks for Girls, so here we go with our presentation of Bath Duckies for Boys! (baby boys, daddies, boyfriends etc.) And we are starting with the Patriot Space Ducky, very friendly, standing at the guard of our nation.

Here we have our Super Hero Ducky with U standing for Unity (it's the duck that unites in the comfort of a bathtub)!

So this is a very Funky Ducky, very Andy Warhol'ish :)

And here's a Football Ducky for all your football fans out there, with jersey stripes and a number "88" emblazoned on his side (U stands for Unity of team spirit once again).

And this, of course is the Chocolate Ducky (can't have a ducky collection without chocolate, right?) and sometimes I wish I could just bite his tail off... :)

Pros: the duck comes in a beautifully designed box and makes a wonderful gift
Cons: read previous post... :)

Bath Ducks for Girls Review

from Bud

So I wrote already about ducks that are great to take a bath with in my post New Odd Ducks, But these ducks are absolutely terrific! The color, texture, and imagination used in creating these just brings a smile to you and your little one. So here are some girly colors (this isn't always the case, of course)

So these wonderful, colorful ducks are designed in Australia, and make a marvelous addition to your child's bath toys. This new unique duck is very cute!

100% phthalates free and virtually indestructible, this hip take on a traditional children's toy may make bath time a little more fun for both of you!

My son just loves the squeaks these duckies make!

So just find the one that appeals the most to your little one.

Pros: the duck comes in a beautifully designed box and makes a wonderful gift
Cons: how many cons can a rubber ducky possibly have? ha!

Plan Toys - Activity Blocks Review

This is a really great set of blocks. Not only is it great for building but it's also a stacking set with blocks composed of unique textures, sound and color to stimulate touch, appearance and various sounds. The set consist of 3 visual blocks, 3 auditory blocks and 3 blocks for kinesthetic. And there's also a cotton bag to keep them in!

Children between the ages of 1-2 will love dumping the blocks out of the bag and putting them back in over and over again, stacking the blocks in towers, and knocking them right back down again. But be careful, there are some small parts, and they can be a choking hazard. I personally think they're great for someone over 18 months. The blocks are eco-friendly too!

Pros: very high quality, they look amazing, and the bag is incredibly neat - easy clean up.
Cons: may be a bit difficult to handle for younger children
Age: 1yr+

Kushies - Peeko Multi-Sensory Surprise Box Review

from Kushies

Wow is this an awesome toy. I think it's one of the most visually stimulating of all that I've come across. This is a toy your little one can have around from rather early on, and be stimulated by it. It's just packed with neat little surprises for your little one. It has a peek-a-boo mirror, a singing bird, and plush detachable Ozlo character. With multiple patterns and textures that include colorful ribbons and crinkly sounds, Peeko Multi-Sensory Surprise Box is just an awesome toy for your little one, and will keep them occupied (hopefully) for a long time!

Pros: there is a lot to do with it. Love it - worth every penny
Cons: really no, cons, a great toy all around

Shake, Rattle & Drum Review

So this is the very first musical instrument set your little one can have. And in truth it doesn't matter if your child has musical talent or not because this is all about rhythm. Percussion instruments are a great way to develop rhythm and musical talent down the link. There are three instruments in this set.

The company that makes it is really dedicated to usefulness and quality of their products, so these instruments are really high quality. Shake, Rattle and Drum is a great-sounding percussion set which comes with a wooden bucket drum with a real rawhide head and and child-size drumsticks, 1 tambourine stick, 1 handled castanet, and 2 mini-maracas.

The materials are all natural wood. And even though Sounds Like Funlists 3 years as when to start, I think that it won't be a necessarily bad idea to start teaching your little one a little earlier the rhythm of life :)

Pros: the drum is actually a bucket when you turn it upside down so all the other instruments can be stored inside. A good way to teach your little one to clean up his (or her) toys.
Cons: some kids may get a little overexcited with this set and you'll be hearing drums and rattles rather early in the morning...
Age: 1yr+ (company offers 3yr)
